Looking Better Than New
Ceramic Pro Elite Dealer • Serving Boulder County Since 2011

Boulder Car Detailing & Local Auto Boutique

The Works has served the Front Range and the Boulder community since 2011. During this time – thanks to support from our loyal customers and their referrals - we have evolved from a traditional auto detail shop into a local auto boutique.

In addition to working on the interiors and exteriors of your vehicle to bring them back to their optimal conditions, we now also offer a spectrum of other on-site services including: Paint Corrections; Ceramic Coatings; partial, front, and full vehicle Paint Protection Film (PPF, i.e., “Clear Bra”); various Window Tinting options; as well as partial or full Vinyl Wraps along with Chrome Deletes.

FAQs

  • All three packages start with the same foundation: a full hand wash with biodegradable soap, deep wheel and wheel-well cleaning, brake dust and bug/tar removal, steam cleaning of all interior upholstery and carpets, leather cleaning and conditioning, interior trim protection, and full glass cleaning inside and out.

Deluxe builds on that foundation by adding an iron remover treatment and full clay bar decontamination to strip embedded contaminants out of the paint, finished with a wax or sealant for protection.

The Works is our most complete package. It includes everything in Deluxe, plus a one-stage paint correction (polish) to address minor swirls and imperfections in the clear coat before final protection is applied.

If your vehicle just needs a thorough clean, Essentials covers it. If you want the paint decontaminated and protected longer-term, Deluxe is the sweet spot. If your paint has visible swirls or you want that true showroom finish, The Works is the package built for that.

  • Pricing depends on your vehicle's size, condition, and which package fits your needs — Essentials, Deluxe, or The Works. Because every vehicle is different (some come in with years of pet hair and stains, others just need routine maintenance), every appointment starts with a personal consultation where we assess your car's condition and give you an accurate quote before any work begins.

If you'd like a ballpark for your specific vehicle, give us a call at (720) 600-4570 or contact us to schedule a consultation — there's no pressure, and you'll know exactly what you're paying for before you commit.

  • In most cases, yes. Our process includes full sanitizing steam cleaning of all upholstery, fabrics, carpet, and floor mats, along with leather cleaning and conditioning — which handles the majority of everyday stains, ground-in dirt, and pet hair, even from heavy-shedding dogs.

That said, results depend on how deep a stain has set and what it's made of. Fresh-to-moderate pet hair and stains typically come out very well with our steam and extraction process. Older, deeply set stains (think years-old spills) may improve significantly but aren't always 100% guaranteed to disappear completely — we'll let you know what to realistically expect during your consultation once we've seen the vehicle.

  • They solve different problems, and you don't need all three to get value — it depends on your goals.

Detailing is the cleaning and maintenance layer: washing, decontaminating, and protecting your interior and exterior. It's what keeps your car looking and feeling good day to day.

Paint correction addresses the condition of the paint itself — removing the fine scratches and swirl marks in the clear coat that show up as haze under direct light. This is a one-time (or occasional) corrective process, not ongoing maintenance.

Ceramic coating is a long-term protective layer applied after the paint is corrected and decontaminated. As a certified Ceramic Pro Elite Dealer, we offer coatings that can carry warranties up to a lifetime, meaning you get a durable, glossy, easier-to-clean finish for years without traditional waxing.

The logical order, if you want the best result, is: detail and decontaminate first, correct the paint if needed, then coat to protect what you've achieved. If your paint is already in great shape, you can skip correction and go straight from detailing into coating.

  • Paint accumulates more than just surface dirt — brake dust, rail dust, industrial fallout, and other embedded contaminants bond to the clear coat over time and won't come off with washing alone. Iron remover chemically dissolves these embedded metallic particles, while clay bar decontamination physically lifts whatever's left bonded to the surface.

This step matters because any wax, sealant, or ceramic coating applied over contaminated paint will trap that debris underneath it — leading to a rougher finish, reduced gloss, and a coating that doesn't bond or perform as well as it should. Decontaminating first gives you a clean, smooth surface so your protection product can do its job properly and last as long as it's designed to.

This is why it's a standard part of our Deluxe and The Works packages, not an optional upsell.

  • Most full detail appointments take a few hours to most of a day, depending on the package and your vehicle's condition — Essentials is the quickest, while The Works (with paint correction) takes longer due to the extra step.

We offer drop-off service, which is convenient if you have errands to run or work to do in town — several of our customers drop off in the morning and pick up a freshly detailed car later the same day. We also take a lunch break daily from noon to 1pm, so keep that in mind when planning pickup or drop-off timing.

For an exact time estimate based on your specific vehicle and package, just ask us when you schedule — we're happy to give you a window so you can plan your day around it.

  • Colorado's combination of intense high-altitude UV exposure, road de-icing chemicals in winter, and dust/dirt in summer means vehicles here tend to need more frequent attention than in milder climates.

As a general guideline, most daily drivers benefit from a full detail every 3, with more frequent washes in between, especially after winter road treatment season. If your vehicle has a ceramic coating, you can typically stretch out the interval between full details since the coating reduces how much grime bonds to the paint, though regular washing is still recommended to maintain the coating's performance.

The right interval really depends on how the vehicle is used and stored — daily commuter, weekend car, or garage-kept exotic all wear differently. We can give you a personalized recommendation during your consultation.

A small bottle of apple juice in my center console exploded like it had watched too much Dexter: spatter ALL over the dash, windshield, seats, and ceiling. The Works were quick, easy, friendly, and did an awesome job erasing the evidence. Would absolutely take a car there again!
